Can You Bring a Dog to Downtown Disney? What to Know

If you're heading to Downtown Disney District in Anaheim, you might be wondering whether your dog can come along. The short answer is yes — with some important limitations.

Downtown Disney is an outdoor shopping, dining, and entertainment area located between the Disneyland parking structures and the theme park entrances. Unlike the theme parks themselves, Downtown Disney does allow leashed dogs in many of its outdoor areas. You'll see pet owners walking their dogs along the main promenade, especially during cooler evening hours.

However, there are restrictions. Dogs are not allowed inside most restaurants and shops (with the exception of certified service animals). Some outdoor dining patios may welcome dogs at the host's discretion, but this varies by restaurant and can change without notice. Dogs are also not permitted inside the theme parks — Disneyland and Disney California Adventure have a strict no-pets policy except for trained service animals.

There is no dedicated pet relief area within Downtown Disney, so plan accordingly before you arrive. The nearest green spaces are in the surrounding Anaheim streets and hotel areas.

For many pet parents visiting the Disneyland Resort, the best option is to drop your dog off at a nearby daycare before heading to the parks. Dogdrop Anaheim is located just minutes from the resort at 1950 E Gene Autry Way in the Griffis Apartments. Our open-play daycare model means your dog gets supervised socialization and play time — not just a kennel — while you enjoy Downtown Disney and the parks.

Dogdrop works on a drop-in, hourly basis with no appointments required. Pay only for the time you use, starting at 30-minute increments. Our staff is Pet CPR and First Aid certified and will even send you pics throughout the day!

Whether you're spending a few hours shopping at Downtown Disney or doing a full day at the parks, Dogdrop Anaheim gives your pup their own great day while you enjoy yours.

Call or text ahead of time at (510) 925-2142 and we'll make sure to greet your pup with a big hello!
